Toro Park and Highway 68: Drainage Work Brings Ramp and Lane Restrictions Through October 30

TORO PARK, Monterey County — October 28, 2026. Residents and drivers near Toro Park, Serra Village and the Highway 68 corridor should plan around scheduled drainage work continuing through Friday, October 30, according to the Transportation Agency for Monterey County’s Cone Zone report for October 25–31.

What the official roadwork report lists

At Highway 68 and Toro Park, the agency lists a full 24-hour closure of the eastbound off-ramp for drainage work during the October 23–30 period. Along Torero Drive to Toro Park, a lane closure is listed for the eastbound and westbound No. 2 lane from midnight to noon during the same period.

The weekly Cone Zone report also describes alternating overnight lane closures near El Toro Creek Bridge and Torero Drive, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through October 30 for drainage work. Drivers on Highway 68 should note that work at other parts of the scenic corridor may have different schedules.

What is confirmed — and what is not

These are scheduled construction restrictions, not a declaration that the entire highway is closed or that each restriction is active at every moment. Construction is weather-dependent and the agency may update the schedule without notice. Allow extra time and follow road signs.

Check the TAMC official Cone Zone Report for the weekly schedule and Caltrans QuickMap immediately before departure. Residents of Toro Park, Serra Village and nearby neighborhoods can submit first-hand public records or corrections to california58com@gmail.com.

Editorial note: This article covers Highway 68/Toro Park drainage work, not the separate Highway 1 coastal closures or the Prunedale roundabout project.
